Welcome to the memorial site for Carriage Auto Mart — a tribute to my dad, his lifelong passion for cars, boats, and the countless memories made along the way. Here, I share stories from his days running the dealership, his adventures with vehicles of every kind, and my own journey continuing the legacy from the cars I drove to listing cars online. This is more than a just a Carriage Auto Mart memorial — it’s a ride through time, Enjoy!
Diamond Jim Motorcars, the successor to Carriage Auto Mart, carries on the tradition of offering high-quality pre-owned vehicles with outstanding service. Known for fair deals and a trusted reputation, Diamond Jim’s continues to serve the community with a diverse selection of cars, trucks, and SUVs.
From 1974 to 2014, my dad, John Steigerwald, proudly owned and operated Carriage Auto Mart, building a legacy of trust, quality, and exceptional customer service. Growing up as the owner’s son, I had the privilege of experiencing firsthand the dedication my dad put into every sale, ensuring customers drove away happy and confident in their vehicles.

One of the perks of being part of the family was having access to some incredible cars over the years. The images below showcase the vehicles I had the pleasure of driving from Carriage Auto Mart—each with its own story and memories.
Carriage Auto Mart was more than just a dealership; it was a cornerstone of our family and a place where lifelong customer relationships were built. Though the name has changed, the memories and the impact my dad made in the community will always remain.

Lot Attendant Jobs
Being the Car Dealer my dad was, he got me into lot attendant jobs while I went to college!

Metropolitan Cadillac SAAB
I was a lot attendant here from 2002 to 2004 and here I was saying

My eBay Listing Experience
My dad had a friend named Tom who was in the auto leasing business. He needed someone to list his clients' personal vehicles on eBay—and that’s where I came in. With my computer-savvy skills, I was able to help Tom (pictured in the middle), who is now proudly part of the Throttlestop team!
I truly enjoyed this venture—every challenge along the way made the journey even more rewarding!
I'm grateful for all that I learned and the growth it brought.
